In 1978, the fortunes of Princes Wharf were revived when the sheds known as L Shed & M Shed were converted into Bristol Industrial Museum. This plaque records the museum's opening. Fred Lester made it, using plaster of Paris and gears from the museum's rope-making machinery, as patterns. The Industrial Museum was closed in 2006 to create M Shed.
