Most of the potters’ output was plain and functional, including toys made for children. But some pottery was highly decorated, such as this pot from Amarna with a pattern of lotus petals, or the small double pot with a ship painted on it. The small black-top bowl is from one of the groups of Nubians who settled in Egypt about 3,700 years ago.
