The soul house provided model food, but it also gave shelter. Like the model furniture, such as the headrest amulet, it would become real when needed. Or a person could take real furniture, such as the folding stool. Clothing might be supplied or asked for on the stela so the dead person had a change of clothes. Some clothing, such as sandals, could be made out of cheap, flimsy materials as they would become real in the Afterlife.
