: Eastern Art

: bulb bowl

: Flat tripod, studded rim, feet shaped like ruyi clouds. Jun ware, grey stoneware shaped by moulding with a skyblue glaze on the inside and a violet glaze on the outside. Base inscribed with the Chinese character for the number four, which was incised before the firing. It has been suggested that such incised numbers refer to sizes, which would help to match flower pots and stands.
