Description: Victory Medal 1914 - 1919. The medal is laquered bronze and bears on the obverse the classical figure of Athene Nike, the goddess of Victory. On the reverse is an inscription, THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION. The ribbon is patterned in blurred ('watered') vertical lines; coloured like a rainbow. A thin line of red is at the centre, flanked by orange stripes, then yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. (N.B. At the time of donation, this ribbon was incorrectly attached to TD5002.)
