Description: Digital recording in which Mahesh Patel tells the story of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Hindu festival in honour of the god Ganesh, as celebrated in Bristol at the end of August 2014. The action begins inThe Bristol Hindu Temple at Redfield (Bristol's only Hindu temple) and ends in the Bristol Channel, just off Portishead. Ganesh is the elephant-headed god in the Hindu pantheon, the remover of obstacles and the giver of wisdom.
