Shell shank, turtleshell barb and coil of sinnet. Shell fish hook, the body of which (shell) is detached from the hook part (turtleshell). These 2 separate pieces are joined by thin twisted cord which is inserted into one or both holes in the hook (one at top, one at bottom) and then inserted into a hole at one end of the shell body. This thin cord continues and coils around a looping bundle of plaited sinnet (a dark shade).

Drawing of a stone relief from the hollow on the back of a stone tiger found in Mexico city. Made from black ink and show a circle containing two seated warriors both having one leg and knee raised with a foot on the ground. There is a second drawing of a warrior design with a note underneath. 'From Peabody Museum Papers Vol.1 Zelia Nuttall'. 'A Penitential Rite of the Ancient Mexicans.' There is nothing to indicate if this drawing is connected with the relief on the tiger found in Mexico City.

Divination bowl, shallow and made of wood. Hinged lid. Supported by 2 pigeon-like birds standing on a flat base. These figures are mostly white with some pink areas and the birds have grey on their tail feathers. There are four decorative pieces of wood hanging from the bowl, one below the hinge, one opposite and two over the birds tail feathers.

Sepia-toned photograph of an Oraibi-Moki snake dance, August 1896. 22 young men gathered around watching one man with a snake on the ground in front of him. Most are holding snakes. They wear aprons, with fur tails behind them, and have white paint on backs, chests and arms. A white man watches from behind the group. In the distance are people and horses, most seem to be Moqui Indians waiting for the dance. The snake dance is a sacred ritual, to propitiate the water god and ask for rain in a dry land. Performed at Oraibi, the largest town, in even years and at Walpi in odd years, young men brought in 200 snakes from a 4 day hunt, the snakes were danced by the snake priests, then returned to the wild.
