This jacket was made by the Inuit people of Ulukhaktok. It was purchased in the early 1970s at Snow Goose shop in Ottowa, a family run store that's been in existence since 1963. They sell Native Canadian and Inuit art.

Protection from the elements is the most important consideration for Inuit clothing. It needs to be warm and waterproof.
