This Greek bottle was donated to the Museum in 1889. The annual report stated:
'Several important additions have been made to the collections in the Lower Room during the year. A glass case containing eighty-two vases, mostly of terra-cotta, collected by the late Sir J Dorney Harding, from ancient tombs near Corinth, and bequeathed by his widow, Lady Harding, of Clifton, has been placed on the staircase; and nine ancient Greek vases of beautiful design, and coloured in white and black on a red ground, which once formed part of the collection of the late Samuel Rogers, the poet, bequeathed by the same lady, are displayed in the upright case near the inner staircase.'
