Opening of the Royal Edward Dock
Opening of the Royal Edward Dock (1:36 minutes)
Work began on the new dock in 1902. Edward, Prince of Wales, came to Bristol to cut the first sod. He returned on 9 July 1908 as King Edward VII, with Queen Alexandra, to open the dock named in his honour. BRO FA 0007
