Daily Coronavirus mortality rates in the news brought death to the forefront of our consciousness in a way not seen before in the UK. We became very aware of the mortality of ourselves and those around us, and it reminded us who was particularly vulnerable within society.

In Bristol, a temporary mortuary was built at Sandy Park, Brislington. Six temperature-controlled containers to store 240 bodies were installed in anticipation of a huge increase in deaths. It was described as a worst case scenario solution. Leaders from multiple faiths blessed the site in an opening ceremony.
