This central panel of a mosaic floor from Brislington Roman Villa, shows a two-handled vessel used for mixing wine and water. Panels which show similar vessels have also been found at two other local villa sites at Kings Weston and Gatcombe. Mosaics made attractive and hard-wearing floors in expensive Roman buildings such as villas.
