This 5th Dynasty (about 2494-2345 BCE) burial of an unknown woman at Qau el-Kebir held a few personal items. The grave itself, number 1101, consisted of a shaft tomb with a brick-built burial chamber. The body was in a wooden coffin. Buried with her were two pottery vessels, two Egyptian alabaster vases and some jewellery. The bowl and two alabaster jars probably contained offerings. These grave goods were typical for this period. Pottery and alabaster pots formed the main offerings in other graves of the 5th Dynasty.
