Soldiers come home
Although the Armistice called an end to fighting on 11 November 1918, the men of ‘Bristol’s Own’ were engaged in fighting until late 1919 in Egypt and the Middle East. Disbanding Britain’s forces was a huge undertaking, as nearly three million men were demobilised from the British Army.
