People were advised to take regular exercise if possible. We were permitted one hour a day out of doors during Lockdown 1, which many people used to explore their local area on a walk, run or cycle.

Online fitness classes became popular, especially 'PE with Joe', a daily workout on Joe Wicks' YouTube channel. Whilst studios were closed, many yoga and dance classes were adapted to be accessible on Zoom, YouTube or Facebook Live. It was a steep learning curve for many teachers but a huge amount of people benefitted from their persistence.
