Round steel barrel, rifled, with a raised blade foresight and a calibrated and adjustable rear sight graduated to 2000 metres. Retained to the stock by 2 steel barrel bands, the rear band with an integral sling swivel, the forward band also forming the nose-cap and also with integral bayonet lug. Cleaning rod missing. Wooden three-quarter stock with separate hand-guard covering the top forward section of the barrel. The underside of the butt with a sling swivel and the right side with crudely carved signature P.J.VENTER (the initial P crossed through) together with 1 unidentified symbol. Steel butt plate and loop form trigger guard. Steel receiver with bolt action, the left side stamped Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken, Berlin, together with the serial number 3210
